Writer and Director – Feature Film: An Evening with Donald Kempinski
Tim started his career as an actor in the theater, appearing in numerous stage productions before moving behind the camera to become an award-winning filmmaker. After graduating from the New York Film Academy in 1999, Tim joined Hallmark Entertainment as a member of their European Development team. He worked on numerous high budget films for television as an in-house script editor, eventually founding Little Fella Films.
His short films “The G.O.D. Club” and “Charity Case” have both won audience awards at the Rudebox and LA International short film festivals. Tim has recently been confirmed as Director on 104 Films’ upcoming short “The Alarm,” written by David Proud. This will be Tim’s first feature as he explores the film’s central idea of the ‘invisible disability.’
Donald Kempinksi went blind in his sleep and has been sailing down the long river of "Denial" ever since. His refusal to accept his blindness has turned him into a curmudgeonly, irascible git. As a result he's lost his wife, his daughter and his friends. He relies on routine to survive, wearing a groove in the same piece of East Village sidewalk every day. But one night, his birthday night, fate steps in and leads him down a path that will change his life forever.
